When I was 16 my very first car was a Firebird Formula 400. I used to joke that it got six gallons per mile. I think the odds of the 24MPH on this van are like that. Maybe they meant 2-4MPH.

I'm curious why you guys think that the guys claim of 24 MPG is so far fetched. Rolling on very non aggressive tires at 55 MPH with a non EGR diesel, this sounds plausible. Most people don't have anywhere near the patience to drive 55 for a long enough period to realize how much fuel it saves.

Diesel??? Heck I can get 1,542.345 mpg with my gas engine. All it takes is a 8% down hill run for a mile or three. On the other hand my 70k mile AVERAGE fuel economy is more like 16mpg.
Really "up to" fuel economy has no meaning, except for maybe at a bar, or a sales add.

Bone stock F-250, 7.3L speed limit is 55 for 90% of our driving, no AC, no way I could get near 20. I'd drop a brick if I hit 18 mpg. That thing is bigger and less aerodynamic in every way.
