Here's an outline of how this works in TX:

https://texaslawtoday.com/2013/05/20...osure-process/

Doesn't actually sound that bad for the buyer.

But I agree with 86Scotty, a newer van that hasn't been sitting can be had for $5-7k and will not be full of random stuff that needs attention at the worst possible moment. Swapping the conversion over is something just about anyone with an able body and a hand full of tools can manage.

Edit: I'd caution against vin-swapping, the penalties are harsh, since the assumption is that you're trafficking in stolen vehicles.

YES. Like all things regulatory it takes tenacity and patience but can be worth it!
Hope nobody is seriously recommending VIN swap. Bad rep for forum.

Brand new San Francisco are code, Orlando Craigslist, odd sized (stolen?) photos, I'd say scam. But give it a shot!

Pretty sure that's a scam. It shows up in California's CL also.

SCAM
Our Craigslist is loaded with Class B RV scams. They advertise under $10k for Chinooks and Pleasure Way RV with only one photo and little details. I wish you could still flag ads the way you used to.

I say scam on that one. Just too good to be true. 2 Craigslists says scam anyway.
