I just noticed that. How the heck does he access the hood? Maybe he just removes the doghouse and does it all from the rear. I think on a lot of vans you can get to more from the back than the front anyway.

I think the hood bars lift off the bottom and pivot on the top pipe. Not sure though.

I'm going to give it a thumbs up for pulling of diamond plate as a kitchen decor. The pleather OTOH is just too much. Still, the price seems OK if it's in serviceable condition and they can find a buyer than can live with the jungle jim.
