    Hello Carringb:

I could use a little schooling on brake upgrades. I have a new to me, 2006 EB Sportsmobile / 6 liter diesel, currently running 17Ē American racing wheels w/ 35Ē BFG all terrains. When my brakes get warm, they loose their stopping abilities, even unloaded. I plan on towing once in a while about 4K lbs. Recently had Budís diesel bulletproofed the motor. Any recommendations? Iíve read so so many posts on this forum that my head is spinning.

    Thank You !

This is Brad Parker. We met at Prineville res a couple years back. Have you used Oregon Transmission Center? I need ANOTHER new tranny and am deciding whether to go local or John Woods/BTS. What do you think? I cooked mine going over willamette pass. Mine is a junk ford HD rebuild.

    Hello Carringb!

Sorry for posting this here but the forum WONT let me send you a PM. I found a thread from a some years ago on regarding a rear axle swap from a Dana 60 to Dana 70 FF. I had seen you haven't been active on there hence I saw your name here and figured I would PM you. I hope you don't mind as you seem to have some knowledge/experience that may help me.

I currently have a Dana 60 FF rear axle on my 2000 E350 PSD w/3.55. I recently perfermed a UJOR 4x4 conversion and slid a 2003 Dana 60 in the front from an F250 w/4.10. To keep my wheels' bolt pattern the same all around, I bought some 2" spacers which also convert the 8x6.5 bolt pattern to 8x170.

Ok, now I have found a Dana 70 FF axle from a 15 passenger SRW van that has low mileage and 4.10 gears at a local wrecker. I went to pick it up and to my surprise it has what looks to be dually brakes/hubs on it BUT it came off a 15 passenger van SRW. I measured the spring perches and they are spot on between the dana 60 and dana 70 as is the measurement from the outer spring perch face to the caliper mount face.

Considering I NEED to re-use my spacers to keep my wheels with 8x170 pattern, How do I go about this swap? I wanted to just bolt the dana 70 right in as a replacement for the dana 60 however the hub ends are puzzling me. I know I can remove the dana 70 dually spacer and rotor but then do I just replace them with the dana 60 hub and rotors? Is it that simple? I can send pics to you if needed. rather here is a thread with them ->
E350 Dana 60 FF to Dana 70 FF

Please let me know. Sorry for the long message. Thanks in advance!
