Your description might very well be how your separator works... it certainly is how it should work! Someone else will need to chime in to answer that question as i'm not sure what separators...

I doubt i'll try setting the webasto to only run on high, i like the fact that in cycles through the different levels as opposed to all or nothing. I'd rather take the time to clean it...
