You're right, the muffler is inside the frame rail, not between it and the body. But it is in line with where the jack is placed in the picture, so pushing it further in won't work either.

Just a few thoughts:

1) Placed ahead of the rear wheel, you are lifting way more than one corner and likely exceeding the jack's ability.

Look at that picture of the Dodge sunk up to the axle. Then ask yourself: Would I rather crawl on all fours with a shovel to make room to place the air jack under it OR would I like to...

Well, that is certainly resourceful, but does the vehicle need to stay running while the jack holds it up and how long can that go on?

I'm sure that it works well, but a $100 HyLift Jack can double as a winch and doesn't need compressed air to operate.
