I've yet to discover any bit of difference in a so-called super duty E-Series---it seems to be nothing more than a name added to enhance an image rather than a quantifiable quality.

IOW its BS. ...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

Good news on the exchange---can't remember when or how I came to believe Bilstein's program was official, the fact its not is new info for me. The better companies seem far more intent on keeping...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

I believe Bilstein has a "ride guarantee" of sorts, a program that does allow exchanging one or the other. Most likely the issue of discarded packaging doesn't figure into the swap, I could be wrong...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

Slightly off-topic but it would be far more useful (IMHO) if shocks were classified by some other system other than "comfort", "heavy duty" etc etc etc. Those terms are far too subjective and...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

My EB E250 that runs at about 7,800# loaded as a daily driver on Michelin LTX tires and Hellwig sway bars (front & rear) is using the HD version. Its not stiff, uncomfortable to ride but does give...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

Personally I'd opt for the heavy duty because they won't impart a hard as a rock ride to your conversion van. The "comfort" name brings up images of a mushy floating sort of road feel, not something...

Re: new shocks for 2WD E250

Add me to the list of fans for eShocks.com! :d5:

For the past 6-7 years (??) they've been the only site I even check for Bilstein's these days.

While there might be shocks nearly as good...
