Though still a little bit shaken up from CarringB's excellent Youtube link on a lack of proper venting, I'm still wondering if you couldn't put a ball valve in the line somewhere and just keep it...

I think you've got room under there to just raise it. Looking closely at your pics, and having just redone all my plumbing, I think you can just pull the drain pipe up from the floor until it is...

The main reason for the vent/overflow is actually so you don't collapse the tank as you pump out the water.

I agree with Rob, since my philosophy has always been that it is much better to have a friend with a boat than having one yourself. :a1:

Howbout just simply adding in a valve in your overflow...
