Perhaps look at the bighorn mountains (go in at Kaycee... mayo worth slip road, follow road till it meets the paved road going west from Buffalo, then head west again) and Pryor mountains (feral horses... though they have DNA from the horses the Spanish brought to the Americas... some have stripes on legs)... also "big Ice Cave" ... the main road is on south and east end, and this is paved, but there is a cool rough track up the mountain coming from west... mind the rattlesnakes, especially the lower grasslands as you approach... there really can be quite a few.

If you don't mind staying east longer before turning west to go to Glacier, consider Charles M Russel NWR and American Prairie reserve north of the Missouri... bison have been reintroduced... this has low number of visitors, very remote... when it rains it may be days before you can drive again because the mud is that so bad. So, do look at precipitation forecast before going in, take enough water, food, satellite communication.

On way south, maybe visit Bison Range on Flathead Indian reservation, potential side trip on the Magruder corridor (MT ID border), head south into the bighole valley (Big Hole National Battlefield), long gravel road through centennial valley and red rock lakes...get out at west yellowstone

    Have fun!

Hi 86cotty -- hope you are well. You were kind enough to respond in the past to a couple of questions sent thru the forum. Just wondering - are you currently with van ? There's not many "of us" on the east coast - so just wondering - if no van in he garage - if I entertained selling mine - would you have any interest ? I'm in Canton, GA -- be glad to send some pics for review. Medically I ay be headed for low back surgery and guess I would be "down" for 4-6 months IF all goes well on the op table !?

My rig is 2002 E350 EB - V10 - Quigley - RIP Kit - actual miles less than 7,000 - StarCool - propane - marine toilet in rear - Road Armor bumpers - 12 Winch front end - currently 100 watt solar on Yakima roof rack - more info and photos if interested ?

great, thanks! Nancy is sending me a gasket for the top now that the SMB shop is closed down (for payment of course). So hard to find parts for these suckers.

Hi Scotty - thanks so much for those tips. Our canvas is doing great, so it's just the sanding, filling, etc. I think we might take a crack at it in June when I have time off - also an issue for us. I'm sure there's a rotted wood board under the ceiling too but that's great to know what you use to replace the interior panels. I think we'll likely do a DIY raptor lining on top, keep the top on, replace the gasket & then open up the roof to inspect the water damage from the inside. Thanks for your tips and I've chatted with a few others that have done this as well. laura

Most will be at a minimum Lugnut centric which seems to also imply conical lugnuts but if you used your flat washered lugnuts, maybe it is not a big deal. Shipping wont be too bad, single flat rate box for the two...See if you have them and how much you want for them and let me know.
Brant new hub centric bolted to the vehicle hub and wheel centric for the new wheel cost 60.00 each. But generic are 125.00 for a set of 4. Im just trying to figure it out and talking live would be a great help. If not, I understand.
If you dont mind, texting would be easier. My cell is 8015028982.

Hey! Cool, you saw my PM quickly and got back to me, Thanks!
I am in Utah, 84065 is my zip. Question(s) Based on research and learning the language of adapters, the best approach for the old lug nut pattern and new would be both hub centric (on the axle) and wheel centric holding the wheel, specifically since the 05+ Lugs are not lug nut centric? Hope this made sense. One online shop said to just use 4 conical lug nuts to center the wheel and use 4 of the washer lugnuts to still hold on the center caps...Sound micky mouse but at least an option...
    Thanks.

    Hey Scotty.
My name is Tyce. I am a new member. I primarily joined the group to see of you still had those two wheel adapters that you mentioned you had left over from your build?
I am building a DIY 1980 E350 Ambulance, my first. I am using the 05+ SD axle and been doing a lot of research on adapters. Anyway I could go on but want to respect your time. Hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks

Hi Scotty - looking at your pictures of redoing a SMB top. We're trying to find someone around here to do ours. The first owner glued solar panels down & they are peeling as is the clear coat. Do you refinish tops or did you just do yours? The pictures make removing the top look a little tricky. Also, what did you replace the interior roof material with? We personally don't have the garage height to do this inside and found one body shop that does RV work but of course they've never seen a SMB - we're in CT. Laura
