Great idea! I plan on doing the same upgrade to my Fiesta. For anybody else thinking about doing this...My work F150 had the same switch, but with green backlighting.

Would they be simpler to produce if the power-fold feature was left out?

Yup. Holes are different. Pretty easy to convert to the '03+ mounting pattern with a good Uni-bit (conical bit). Just need to add 2 more holes and open up 2 of the existing.

If you get a re-producable mount worked up for the mirrors, I'll buy a set from you!

I really want those mirrors too. I was going to swap heads to the SuperDuty lighted heads, but the thin LEDs...
