It won't fit, and the Dodge van is a unibody, so you can't do a body lift and the exrtra twist of that Cummins might put too much twist on the body.

You probably could do a BT4 swap.

Doing an '08 front-end swap is pretty straightforward. Probably easy than trying to squeeze a full turbo-diesel cooling stack into the pre-'98 grill. With the lower power numbers of the 12-valve, I...

Ford does sell a rear fuel door kit, designed for use with rear tanks in mobility applications. It does howeve look slightly aftermarket. It does not fit flush like the front gas door.

That's why I wish Ford would offer an EcoBoost option in the E-series cutaway! All the torque, more HP, no worries about $12,000 fuel pump replacements.

I was actually thinking this morning that...

I'm sure it's done that way to maintain a common process and parts for both 2" and 4" lift builds.

That sure is one clean shiny frame:)

Are you going with a rear only tank? Or going to run dual...

wooginator - the engine swap is possible but probably not worth the extra work, since low mile triton motors are so cheap. The oil pans, front cover, and throttle bodies are different e to f series....

Doing a front clip update would be the easy part though since its all pretty much bolt-on body panels.

Now that you're this far in, and are making such amazing progress on integrating the electronics.... Do you think you'd attempt a build on a non-CAN-BUS build on an older van? Would that make thing...

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

That was the main disadvantage John talked about with their setup. It is not as quick as the Ram version, and tuning beyond 360HP isn't really an option. BTW I think he said he uses a 1000 trans for...

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

My V10 is not CAN-BUS.

I do think an engine/trans combo swap is the path of least resistance, esp for a 7.3L. Plus, the new diesels have come a LONG ways since the 7.3L vs the V10 which is still...

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Also, QuadVan just uses the stock controller and harness out of the F650 for doing their Cummins 6.7L-Allison conversions. I think he said they have done 3 so far, and will be doing another as soon...

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

PCS now fully supports the TCM-2000 for the 5R110. I know Mark is skeptical of the aftermarket being able to make it work right, but I haven't seen any complaints since PCS took over programming...

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Now that you got me thinking about Allison's in the V10 thread.... Could the differential VSS be used instead? Obviously it has speed factor for the gear ratio, but a signal converter is cheap.

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

My suspicion is Ford has the 3.2L PCM pretty well locked down as well.

I think a Cummins 4BT would be MUCH simpler, and should play well with the TorqueShift transmission.

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

2005 was the first year for CAN in the gassers (all 6.0s are CAN).

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

I do! I love that stuff, and use it for all wiring projects where either heat or moisture problems are anticipated.

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Are you sure you can't find a standalone Allison controller? The Allison controller in the F650 is stand alone and only gets speed and shift selector info through can bus.
