Yes, the old V8s were pretty choked up in the intake department. I'm sure the Banks Ram air would help. On my '94 I did my own setup by removing the restrictor cone, trimming the baffle in the air...

The headers on the Powerpack need the same space the front driveshaft does.

If you really want headers, you'll have to just try some F-series shorty headers, but keep in mind shorty headers don't...
