Putting a rig in 4x4 low puts LOTS of torque on the driveline. Putting it in 2WD low puts twice as much load still. I don't know how much redarding force the 6.0 makes, but whatever it is, is...

It sounds electronic to me. Possibly maybe just a fault (i.e. fail safe mode) which sometimes can result simply from an unexpected speed signal input (or any off the other 500+ sensors). If it keeps...
