I like what you have done -

- bronze bushings on the pivots

- secure, overcenter clamps for latches

I couldn't tell from the picture, but is the passenger side taillight blocked...

McMaster-Carr is a great resource. The biggest problem trying to find the name they use on some items - if they call something other than what you call it, searching is useless.
With a paper catalog...
