Re: WTB - Regular Body, 4x4...!
Hey BW,
I'd like to pay 'market' - whatever that means... I think I can find something for under 50K - I'm not trying to steal one, but I'd really like to be able to get out of it without too much $$ damage if we don't use it as expected. If it's a good deal, that budget can be stretched quite a bit.
Does the demand drop post-summer? West coast of Florida, seasons are meaningless. I'm in no huge hurry, but can jump immediately.
Thanks guys -
BM

$50K should be very do-able.

First three posts must be manually approved by a moderator. There's nothing pending to approve, so I can't say what may have happened to any other post.

Doesn't seem like prices drop with any particular season (at least not that I've seen in CA). But you have a pretty decent budget to work with so you should be able to find what you're looking for, it's just a matter of whether the supply is out there. Sometimes theres a bunch for sale and other times theres nothing.

Re: WTB - Regular Body, 4x4...!
Herb, thank you, sincerely appreciated. ...and if you send me 2000.00 dollars, I'll release the millions you've got waiting for you from the late uncle you never knew you had...
I've seen everything on the market and quite a bit off-market... there's quite a bit 2WD, there's quite a bit full size (EB), and there's even a few that are prefect except for the front facing seats... Wish41 has a decent one.
Converting over to 4x4 (ujoint) just blows any realistic budget out of the water, and redoing the interior just doesn't seem to make sense.
Thanks for keeping an eye out -

Not really. Ujoint is pretty close to you and is competitive pricewise. Your challenge is probably going to be finding one close enough to you to look at, unless you like to travel and/or buy sight unseen. Also, there aren't too many SMBs with 'house' air conditioning (look for one with Starcool or Danhard AC?) and I would say you need it where you live.
Redoing the interior? Different story unless you do it yourself.

I'm in full agreement on the interior.
But, in my mind, buying a 2wd SMB and having it converted to the 4WD system of your choice makes a lot of sense. I know you're looking for a forward facing setup, but just as an example, here is a low mileage SMB for $18,900.... http://wenatchee.craigslist.org/rvs/4999478013.html
Unless Agile has raised their prices, a 4wd conversion is doable in the $11k range. You would be at $30k total. Or a Ujoint conversion in the $14-$15k range, you could be at $33-$34k all in turn key and all of your front end components would be brand new plus you get the system of your choice.
The only other thing to add to the cost might be travel/ transport costs. Or you could get a newer 2wd van and do the same thing and still be under your budget of $50k.
