Re: Some places sell all the fun stuff
Well, Fredonia has a very interesting history (as does all that area of the country), look it up sometime on google. It is a town inhabited (originally) by religious folks from USA and other countries and tried to make the best of what they could for years. One of the motels there that is a leftover from the homesteading days in the 1800's is probably the cruddiest place I have stayed in, in the USA. The leftover cockroach do-do, crummy carpet, slimy sheets were horrifying. I stayed b/c it was late on a long driving day that I felt it wasn't safe to continue on that night, but stopped, sort of in a desperate state. I slept on my sleeping bag, left after a few hours of sleep, and wished I had my van (which I did not at the time). I have thought about it off and on over the years, b/c it is a slice of life of the old, lost, and still surviving folks. I have been through there again, and the town, the buildings and the folks are still there and straggling by. But, did not stay there again!
