Re: Pics of what you tow with your Sportsmobile

This is my race car hauler, but it was loaded with belongs headed to Baja - weighed in just under 8,000 lbs.

I took my 35 inch BFG's off for better handling and gear reduction - towed great all the way to Cabo.

Van must have felt under power bajasmb. I tow about 7500 lbs with my 7.3 and its a dog. That all changed with a tow tune by 5 star tuning.

I pull this, this or this.
I really need to get a 5 star tuner and free flow exhaust for my V-10. Its not so efficient.

I had to keep my foot in it if I wanted to maintain 65+, but gas mileage really suffered. I think it was more to do with wind resistance then weight.

We pulled in to San Diego this evening after stopping by the shop. We took the dirt road from Hwy 1 to Coco's Corner and San Felipe on the way home.

We had absolutely no problems on the trip and will be doing it again in a week or two. I am going to need some new tires for the trailer as they are getting a little thin.

We meet a couple from San Diego at the Pemex and Jesus Maria, in their Quigley SMB Fixed Top. They were returning from San Juanico (Scorpion Bay) surfing for three weeks and they were towing their Sammy. We convinced them to follow us home and see the other side of the peninsula and now have some new friends. Gotta love Baja!

I'd like to know more about that first trailer too. Toy hauler for a van! I could see really liking something like that. I also really like how your van looks relatively stock (but isn't). I like the "full on SMB look" too, but yours is a nice change. Many nice subtle details.
