I agree about the quality of the cabinets. I've subjected mine to thousands of miles of high speed washboard roads and have never had so much as a loose screw.
The top provides ample headroom for my 6'4" frame. Of course the rear of the top has far less clearance, but I never stand on the bed anyway, so it doesn't make much difference to me. All in all, the GTRV conversion seems to be very well constructed, the only negative I can see is that the stove is directly over the refer so that every time I'm cooking the refer runs pretty much non stop. I added insulation between the two that helps, but it's still less than desireable. Not that most all other vans aren't set up the same way though.
