We are very sad to be selling this, but an opportunity to realize a dream to do some long distance sailing pushes us to list it for sale. We bought the van in November, 2019 and have enjoyed 4 years of exploring the West with it. And it still looks like new, inside and out.

Here is the original ad from November, 2019 with 27,800 miles on the van:

It’s with a heavy heart, I am placing our beloved Sportsmobile up for sale. Due to an extended illness in our family, we have not been able to use our SMB. Rather than seeing it sit idle, it needs to go to a new home where it can be enjoyed. I am the original owner, the van has spent almost all of its life, when not being used, in our garage and out of the elements. It looks like new. The vehicle is located in San Clemente, CA.

Since we bought the van in November, 2019, we have put another 25,000 miles on it traveling all over CO, UT, OR, WA, including winter ski trips, mountain biking, and just backcountry exploring. We have driven the van regularly, with regular, annual maintenance work done with a Ford 6.0l diesel and BulletProof specialist. Since buying the van, we have added:

Aluminess front bumper with brush guard
Warn VR1200-S with synthetic line winch in front bumper
Factor 55 billet flatlink
Lightforce Striker 170mm driving lights in front bumper (wired to new switch on the dash)
Aluminess rear bumper with swing-out tire carrier
Aluminess large cargo box with shelf (26”x16”x30”) with locking door
1-up bike trays (2) mounted on frame above storage box
Aluminess ladder
Kenwood touchscreen head unit, 2 new speakers (of 6, including subwoofer already installed) – there is also a backup camera wired to the head unit in the rear bumper
6” LED work lights in rear bumper wired to new switch on dash for super bright backup lights
2 12V USB chargers
2 100W Renogy solar panels on roof wired directly to the Blue Sky solar controller
1 100W Renogy folding ‘suitcase’ solar panel stowed in rear that plugs into the extra solar input on rear of van
Queen size foam mattress topper
2 7 gallon water jerry cans (for a total of about 30-34 gallons of water on board)
Cleanwaste GO Anywhere portable toilet (Wag bag/gel solution for the desert)
The van comes with many tools, spares, and everything you need to go right away

Major services we have done, in addition to annual B&G oil flush and change:

2023: Axle services: front: new bearings, new inner and outer seals, flush oil and change, new rotors, new brake pads, 1 new Warn manual hub lockout, 1 rebuilt rear: new bearings, new seals, flush oil and change, new rotors, new brake pads, 5 new BFG All Terrain KO tires, new bedliner on the hoop steps

2022: Dynamat sound insulation added to the doghouse (2 layers) – significantly reduces the noise and heat from the doghouse! Fuel filters replaced, new Rancho 9000 shocks all around

2021: Added solar system, Extreme Outback air compressor rebuilt, oil fill tube replaced, air filter replaced, B&G diesel flush with oil change, etc.

2020: New Kenwood touch screen head unit for stereo system and 2 new front speakers – includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, backup camera, etc.

The van has been super reliable for us and we have taken it far out into the desert and backcountry. The van was kept in a heated garage when not being used up until we put the solar system on in 2021 – now it is about an inch too tall for our 8’ garage door.

The van is ready to go right now – the mileage will change as we are still using it for mountain biking and camping. The storage box under the rear floor is full of tools, a large 20-ton jack, spare parts, extra fluids, everything you may need. All you need to do is fill the fridge, bring your clothes, and head off to Baja or wherever…

Located in Dillon, CO, about an hour West of Denver, CO.

Serious inquiries only please. $100,000

Very nice.
If I hadn't found our 06, we'd be having a different conversation.
Good luck with your sale!

Thank you for looking

We just got back from a week-long trip to Moab to do some mountain biking, including a ride with a group of friends on the White Rim Trail for 4 days. We used the van as a support vehicle and it performed flawlessly. So, the mileage is about 53,500 now - and increasing as we are still driving it regularly.

Also - updating and reducing our asking price. Asking $95,000 or best offer.

Am interested. We are in Prescott, Az and want to get a Sportsmobile to drive to our winter home in Alaska in late April. We have some questions. Can you call me. I am new to the site and reluctant to put my number out there. How can I send you a PM?
