Where does one obtain those uber-cool door speaker pods?

They made them from the existing A pillar pods.

Those tweeters that JoeH posted definitely inspired me when I installed my speakers. No where as nice of a looking setup when I was done but I'm extremely happy with it.

I know Geoffff did something similar as well. Mine is powered by a JVC head unit (JVC KW-NT510HDT) and no amp. Since the van is a diesel it didn't make sense to may to over-engineer or spend on the sound system.

Re: OK, so what sort of speaker / amp setups are you cats us

my setup is a kenwood double din,
kenwood 4ch amp,(no idea the model, its 85wx4@4ohm 100wx4@2ohm and 200w bridged @ 4ohm)
Infinity Kappa 50.11cs 5 1/4" component speakers (would rather have the 6 1/2" but 5 1/4" i already had and is a big surprise in SQ and loudness)
Polk Audio 8" sub in a sealed box.

it gets incredibly loud, clearly hear every word and guitar note at over a block away.

when i build out the interior, i will be replacing the 8" sub with likely a 10" just so i dont bottom out the sub trying to hit the low freq. or just build a ported box for the 8" and see how that works out.

Re: OK, so what sort of speaker / amp setups are you cats us

Mine is basic but sounds pretty good Kenwood double-DIN DVD head unit, Infinity 6x8s in front doors, Sony 6x8 in barn door (only one in the middle), and rear speakers moved fringe doors and changed to Kenwood 6.5s mounted in my rear SMB cabinets. Sounds surprisingly good for a fairly small investment. I also prewired for a drop-down monitor but haven't installed it yet, as well as running another RCA cable to the back of the van in case I want to watch on a small flat screen stand-alone monitor.

Re: OK, so what sort of speaker / amp setups are you cats us

Alpine double din dvd with backup camera, Bluetooth and camera override button to see behind when driving not just when put in reverse, zapco digital amps, alumipro open air sub installed in the rear compartment on passenger side, focal speakers, separates up front, coax in the rear doors. I eliminated the barn door speaker and added a separate amp with volume knob and speaker jacks behind the 2nd barn door for outside speakers(rarely used). I used to have a separate roof mounted DVD player that was piped through the system, we now just use our Mac with a Bose speaker behind it. The amps are mounted under the trap door in the slider cabinets in our "50".

Awesome build and setups. I am glad to know I am not the only one who values rocking out in my future SMB!
