Hello from NW Arkansas

Hi everyone new to the forum. Been a long time van owner but new to the SMB world. Recently bought a 2014 E150 cargo van that I used to move from FL to NW Arkansas and with hopes of doing a 4x4 conversion and modest interior build. Looking forward to tapping into the knowledge base here.

The van is a 2014 cargo with the 4.6 flex fuel engine and sliding side door. Would love to do a TTB dana 50 but may juat have to settle for a 2wd lift due to budget reatraints. I guess my first question would be did I buy the wrong van? Should I put money into converting what I have or look for a 3D E250 or E350 with a bigger engine thats allready been upgraded?

Looking forward to any and all advice...

Welcome.

Whether the E150 is the wrong van is really based on what you want to do with it. You might need to go with a lighter build to stay within GVWR. The 4.6 is another reason to not go too heavy on the build. On the other hand, I believe the newer E-series E150s are built with the same frames as the E250.

Many people/converters start with a E250/350 or 2500/3500 due to the weight of a build.

Someone with more E-series knowledge can address that.

Thanks. I'm about to ask this again in the General forum. I'm planning to do a very light build as this will be a daily driver as well. Thanks again for the welcome!
