Let someone tour your van (Spokane area)?

Not sure if this is the right forum....

Wife and I have been VW Vanagon campers for 10+ years. Ready for a few extra amenities, and driving improvements.

We tried a truck camper and a small class A, didn't like either more than our van. Class C is out of the question.

Anyways, I'm looking to buy an E350 and build a camper, but it would suck if it's not any better than the VW.

Is there anyone in NE Washington (Spokane-ish) or (C'dA area) that would let us walkthru their SMB or fullsize campervan to get a feel about size?

Pictures because....

Hey kbeefy, what didn't you like about the truck camper, if you don’t mind?

If all goes well, I should be in Kalispell in a few days.

No access from cab, virtually no storage, and height.
The floor was approximately 4' off the ground.

This was my 3rd camper, they all had some drawbacks that brought me to replace them. The main attraction was the presence of a toilet for the wife. Theres just not room for one in the vanagon.

Where abouts? I think we'll be going to Bend sometime this fall, we usually follow the Columbia as far as Biggs. Thats about as close as I like to get to Portland.

Roger that, thanks. I have been interested in a truck camper, part of my hesitance includes what you mentioned.

You might try sending CDACamper (a member here) a PM since he's only a short drive from you. I think that you'd find a SMB with the "50" layout very similar to your VW, but with about 1/3 more space overall.

Yes, the 50 is similar to the VW. Between the 'galley' and the ARB I have on the floor there is very little room to move. I'd really like to see something like a 30 with a 'goucho' and a path to the rear door. Not sure if the wife and I would like the sleeping accommodations though.
