Re: What went wrong?
took a look at it looks pretty streight and does look like it might have been braced. the back of the fan to the radiator has the top sitting closer then the bottom.
That is a common problem with the transmission cross member. It is probably sagging. You need to reinforce it or put a shim under the transmission mount. Pay attention to your drive line angle, raising the back of the transmission may change it!

Re: What went wrong?
I guess the good news is that of 247 people who have viewed this, only a few have issues.
Speaking of what went wrong..... my last Saab (seriously, my last one) had 3 transmissions go bad in under 60k! Dealer wouldn't do anything about it!

Yes, that’s exactly what to look for. If the fan blades are close to or hitting the fan shroud at the top and are far away from the shroud at the bottom, you may want to have the cross member looked at or shim the transmission mount. (If you don’t know how to use angle finders and understand drive line angles, have an off road shop you trust help you with it.)

Re: What went wrong?
I'll have them check it at the the shop when I drop it off. the motor is twisting to the passanger side under load and hittinh the shroud but will have them check.

Re: What went wrong?
Sure sounds like a motor mount.

Re: What went wrong?
My driver-side rear shock failed with only 4400 miles on it. It's leaking thick black oil from under the upper shell. Fortunately, SMB West is sending a replacement. Still, it's an annoying problem that I'd rather not have to deal with.
EDIT: They're Old Man Emu shocks, standard for SMB 4x4. SMB says that problems are rare.

So wednesday its being dropped off for a look at all mounts.

What went wrong?
Okay word back from the shop on the motor mounts. The motor mounts had a few loose nuts and bolts. The strange thing is they it has two left side motor mounts.

Wood screw on right, metal screw on left.
I wouldn't worry about the wood screw but the small one looks important....
