Zodi hot shower review
I bought a Zodi hot shower unit while on my way to the Hammers race and connected directly to my on board water system. I liked it because of its compact design, and it's ability to use disposable propaine bottles before I plumbed it into my on board tank. I got it all hooked up and got ready for a hot shower. the water was cold and the burner was on high. After trying to reduce the flow rate to increase the time in the coils and a few other things, I gave Zodi a call. One of the first things you hear on the recorded message is that you should go to the web site to get detailed instructions on how to modify the burner for better operation. I hung in there and finally talked to a tech. He offered to email or fax me the instructions on the mod, but I already read them on line. It's a ten step process, which I did, with no improvement. This is on a new unit! I refuse to work on it another minute. It's going back, but I just wish I didn't have to carry it for the next month, as there are no Cabellas in California. Not a recomended buy.

Sounds like one to stay away from, thanks. I think the closest Cabelas to Apple Valley/KOH event is Phoenix

I would have gotten the Ecotemp if I could have found one while on the road, but no one had one in stock. I will get one though, but I'll probably have to order it when I get home.

We like the Zodi.
The issue of the water not being heated enough has an easy fix.
Run the water right back into the reservoir. We were in Maine and the water was pretty cold, even though the water was not coming out warm enough for a shower, just run it through again and you are now heating water that is warmer, so it gets pretty hot if you want it that way.
The pressure is very low and that is a larger issue for us. We just put the bucket on top of the Baja box and shower between the two back doors while standing on top of the slotted step stool and have a tarp between the doors and it works fine. Keep a towel on the bed of our 50 and you crawl straight into the van from the shower without a worry.

The issue on mine is that the burner does not get hot enough. According to the manufacturer they got a batch of bad regulators and there is a ten step process to fix it that they expect the consumer to do. I tried the fix but The jet hole is so small. You can't see light through it. After taking it apart three times and doing exactly what they said to do, the flame is still miniature. I reduced the water flow to a dribble and it was still cold. I'm sure I could enlarge the jet size and it would get plenty hot, but my smallest drill bit is too big and would turn the burner ring into an inferno. They should have done a recall, but instead want the consumer to fix their quality control issues. Perhaps a replacement unit would work as it should, but at this point they have lost my business.

That's some BS telling the customer to fix it instead of just sending out a replacement.

They did offer to replace it, but I don't have a mailing address at the moment.
