Re: Home Build Project: 2000 E-350 Extd Cargo 7.3L Voyager Top

Yes, it's a lumber support that I bought for around $50 and installed myself. It's real easy to do since the vans fabric seat upholstery peels up pretty easy once you un-snap the plastic snap seam...

Re: Home Build Project: 2000 E-350 Extd Cargo 7.3L Voyager Top

Thanks Bill. Hopefully someone on here or ExPo will fall in love with it, rather than it become just another work van.

Home Build Project: 2000 E-350 Extd Cargo 7.3L Hi-Top *SOLD*

I lost my job just 3 months after I bought my dream project camper-van and have not been able to find consistent work since last October. So, sadly, I have to abandon my camper-van project. I've...

Re: Awning brackets for voyager top

I have the voyager top. I'll measure the gutter space tomorrow and report back.

As for bolting directly to the top: The fiberglass thickness and strength should be the same as a crusier, so if...

Re: The Ultimate And Affordable RV Heating System

Absolutely, and please keep 'em coming!

I'm giving up on the radiant concept though. Did some more research, and apparently the average radiant system puts out 18-25 btu's/sqft. Only the very best...

Re: The Ultimate And Affordable RV Heating System

Interesting find.

According to their literature, the maximum possible temperature rise of the floor with their system is 15*f (less 6* if you have carpet = 9*), and you must have R13 insulation...

Radiant Heating System

Has anyone given any thought to designing/building a hydronic radiant heat system?

I'm envisioning a small propane water heater with storage tank like this Propex unit:...

The Ultimate And Affordable RV Heating System

I'm on a quest to find the Ultimate and affordable RV heating system for my own build. I've been brainstorming various ideas and have already posted one of my random ideas on the subject on this...

Re: Espar Hydronic Coolant Heater -Can't it Heat Your Cabin Too?

Hi, sorry. I pretty much abandoned the Webasto Dual-Top option, for now anyway. The unit and installation hardware alone would run about $4,000...way beyond what I think most DIY'ers would be willing...

Re: 12V only versus 12V/120V fridge

Yes, I think these may be worth a look too. The drawer box design prevents all the cold air from falling out (like on the front loaders) each time you open. That's gotta help with keeping the run...

Re: 12V only versus 12V/120V fridge

Exactly, I'm shooting for a large fridge/freezer combo. Prefer combo to separate units for compactness and I imagine better efficency. I also want the freezer compartment to be on the large size, as...

Re: 12V only versus 12V/120V fridge

So to conclude: A dual voltage 12v/120v fridge is better than a 12v only fridge, because it spares your batteries and your food, whenever you have access to shore power - Correct?

Hey Bronco, I...

Re: E series tires

I'm curious to know how the STT's perform on wet pavement, compared to the BFG's, or anything else you've run?

With the extra weight of the Cooper's, have they been difficult to balance? Any...

Re: I did it...I finally bought a motorcycle.

Nice ride, congratulations!

Looks like she's wearing Avon Distanzia's? Excellent street tire and ok for dry fire roads, just don't take them into mud or any serious dirt.

Re: Cheap Lift For a 2wd

Thank you! This may be my best option for now. Any idea how I can positively identify the # rating of my front springs?

265 tires are pretty close to 32". That combined with the stronger springs...

Re: Cheap Lift For a 2wd

Not sure, but the radius arms are not the problem on the 2wd van. It's the twin I-beam axel arms that are mounted transversely in front of the cross-member. The design induces a scissor-like motion...

Re: Cheap Lift For a 2wd

Ok, nevermind. I just studied the front end and think I've answered my own question. It looks like any attempt to raise the springs or use longer ones, is going to throw off the static camber, due to...

4x4 Homebuild Project For Someone

I posted this thread to the 4x4 forum, but I think it would also be of interest to the Homebuilders here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3709 (https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3709)

Re: Cheap Lift For a 2wd

Yup, same as a RB.

So there's no other way to lift the front suspension, not even 2", other than a coil and camber kit for $2k? - I'm guessing the problem is with the I-beams messing up the camber...

Cheap Lift For a 2wd

I want to get some more ground clearance for light to moderate trail duty. I know the simplest and cheapest thing to do would be to install taller tires, but does anyone know what is the tallest tire...

Potential Conversion Project For Someone

Came across these two rarity's today. E-350 Diesel Conversion vans are extremely rare. If it was 4x4 it would be even more unique. So why not swap in the Quigley running gear and sell off the rusty...
