The state only gets the $7 certificate fee. The rest goes to the shop that does the smog check. The state wants to get the gross polluters off the road. Anybody who does tuning will know someone that...

It's hard to imagine a good running, stock van failing the smog test. Mostly, they look for required equipment, plug into the OBD-II port and look for fault codes and tuner chips. And they are...

The 6-year waiver on smog inspections only applies to gas engined vehicles. Why???? Only the CA DMV knows.
