I dunno. Are they using your suspension components?

Re: Chevy Quigley and the Baja 1000
As long as the route this year is a well mowed lawn like at their factory, sure. Was that video supposed to impress people?

Re: Chevy Quigley and the Baja 1000
If there is a cutoff time limit, I doubt that they finish before that deadline.
But just completing the course; probably.

Re: Chevy Quigley and the Baja 1000
BTW, maybe building this rig was a distraction at the factory that kept Skinny from getting his Quigley conversion on time.
I understand Quigley's excitement about going to Baja, but I have to think they must have an intern working there who wants to be a film maker. I got a kick out of how overly dramtic the clip was, just to show them driving fast through a parking lot and over a manicured lawn.

Re: Chevy Quigley and the Baja 1000
We'll since I build and own 4X4 Vans and have taken mine many places you wouldn't think a van can go, I think I have a pretty good idea of what they are up against. I've also won the Baja 1000 in Stock Full and owned a Stock Full truck, so I have a little idea there also.
I've looked over a new Quigley IRS Chevy pretty thoroughly also, and while very nice it is not Baja Racing ready. Unless this van is significantly different than their regular Chevy offering it won't hold up to the average speeds that they will need to carry to finish on time.
I've got thousands of Baja miles on my Dana 50 TTB FORD E350 and it is a much better Baja suspension system that has been tested and improved for cause after extended Baja miles.
There is some video of us bombing down the road to Coco's on our website.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see them do well - just being realistic.
We're leaving for Baja in our Van in just an hour - I'll be watching for them, and willing to lend a hand.

I stopped watching at the point when the garage door was about halfway up.

Re: Chevy Quigley and the Baja 1000
Maybe they'll realize after the first big set of washboarded road how good their suspension is...
And question for Ramsey, even though you're probably already in Ensenada, didn't someone attempt to race a converted 4x4 ambulance a couple years ago?
