Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
Dave,
Two questions.
1) Front and rear springs?
2) Bilsteins?
Oh, and I hope this is the turn-around to run of bad luck you've been having, you deserve it.

Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
The van sits higher now but rides great. I might put the air bags back on the rear.

Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
Wow, is that actually an arch to the front springs? I've heard of such a thing, but have never seen it on an SMB.

I was advised by Deaver when ordering not to use my air bags I had put on as a bandaid to the original spring pack. Maybe it was more of a "you won't need them", which I haven't. Huge improvement over my whimpy stock springs and block. Deavers and bilsteins transformed my rig, worth every $100. That being said, I am sure that the new setup from SMB with the OME are pretty darn good, and I would have a hard time justifying the cost of replacing those.

Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
I was told the same thing at first but because each set of springs is designed for each vehicle Jeff wasn't sure what the outcome would be. I gave him each tire point weight and told him to spec the rig for 12,000 lbs even though I usually run about 11,200. After he looked at the rear he said I might want to put them back on. I'm just going on his suggestion. It won't take much to put em back on and I can always pull them off.
Before the job was done, if I hit a speed bump, anything in the back jumped into the air. Now when I hit one the rear tires feel like they are flat...practically no movement at all now. I've used the air bags to lift the back up during tail drag and they can help, but I also will not give up this ride.

Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
I had Deaver add one extra leaf in the rear after the initial install. It is a little stiff when empty, but just right when loaded for a trip.

Re: Deaver Springs long term reviews?
I'm gonna try the bags Phil...I kinda got the impression that Jeff thought it wasn't stiff enough. My van is one of the heavier rigs he's tackled. The van sits level fully loaded but I wonder what the stance will be down the road? It rides so nice...we'll see. The bags also have other values though.
