You are right once you get through the Eisenhower tunnel and over Vail Pass it's mostly down hill. I was pointing out another run we did at high altitude and cold temps. I am still really amazed that a van this big and heavy can that kind of mileage. The van averages better than my Honda Element!
I use a ScanGauge to monitor some data but don't use it for mileage. We calculate every tank. This has been with the stock Continental tires(60/76 psi front/rear). We just put new tires on the van(Michelin LTX A/T2) and will be curious to see how they affect mileage.

Re: MPG as of 6/23 High Top 144"
Are you still running 60/76 with the new tires? That is a lot different than most. I am running 50/70 but maybe I should boost them a bit to help with mileage.
The stock front tires were worn very evenly so we'll keep the pressure at 60psi. The rears were worn a little more in the middle and we decided to drop the pressure to 70psi. It appears my local Dodge dealer never actually rotated the tires. Our new Mercedes dealer is only a few miles from us and should do a better job.
