2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
We pulled the fully functional passenger seat base this weekend and would prefer not to junk it. It has the awesome cassette drawer that appears to all be there and it works. It is quite dirty so expect it to remain that way. We haven't priced shipping so as long as the buyer pays it we don't care. It fits in the box our swivel base came in. If you're interested make an offer.
We are going to expo east so it can tag along for delivery if need be.

Re: 2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
Those are handy. I had one on my last van and when I put a swivel up front I moved that base to one of the rear captain's chairs. It's great for paperwork/manual storage.

That's what it looks like. I'll take some pictures tonight and post them up. It's pretty handy, we didn't even notice it the first couple of weeks we owned the van so it's a bit stealthy too. We thought of removing the drawer to have a spot to cram some shoes but getting a swivel base won out.

I had no idea there was a drawer there. Shows how much I know.

I moved the center shelf you made to the back to put the seat covers on and noticed the handle slot. Pulled it, then laughed once I saw the cassette holders... couldn't believe a 2001 still had those.

Re: 2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
Checked with John/Mandi and was authorized to post this since it is along the same thread:
I have one of the same seat bases here on the West Coast, if shipping from East Coast is an issue. It is very good shape, cassette holder / dividers and all They are handy for tucking stuff away. I would have looked to possibly re-locate to driver side seat but my inverter is mounted in that space already.

Re: 2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
I didn't think about trying to move it to the driver's side. The drawer would face the door unless it could be rotated around. It might hit the 4x4 shifter. Not sure where the trim pieces would line up either. We'll be removing the driver's seat again tonight to start sound proofing so maybe we'll play with that... can't promise anything as we are trying to get it all put back together to get it to Chris.

Re: 2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
definitely a cool little item, but it does use up space we use for shoes as well. appreciate the pix, but im going to pass. would rather spend the money on swivels.

im still amazed that my 2008 tl has a cassette player. i was told the one of the markets the cars were aimed at were traveling salesmen and the tape player was kept from previous models so they could listed to books on tape. ok, ya, sure....what about books on cd?? either way, our cassette player has yet to have a tape in it...ever.

Re: 2001 Passenger Seat Base with Storage Tray
Sounds like a great place to stash some cash. Find a tape (maybe an old white one - oh yeah), gut it, stash some cash in it, put it back together and toss it in the glove box. Who would ever steal that? For fun look for some old Johnny Cash.
This was meant to be a joke but I am now thinking this could be a half decent idea.
