FS: 2007 E350 Sportsmobile 4X4

We have decided to sell our 1-year old Ford E-350 Sportsmobile 4X4. We absolutely love our SMB, but have recently moved to Maine from Colorado and don’t feel it will get the use it did in Colorado (which was every weekend in the mountains last summer). We are hoping to build a home here in Maine and would really like to put as much cash into the project as possible, which is the reason for the sale.

We are the original owners of this van and we took delivery one year ago this week (4/5/07). Original cost of the van was $97,000 and original cost and specs sheet will be made available to serious inquiries. Asking price is $85,000 REDUCED TO $79,500. Our van only has 14,000 miles, over half can be attributed to Interstate traveling.
I will make some interior pictures available soon (sorry, I just got back from a cycling trip and have not unpacked and cleaned), but in the meantime you can check out the following links for some online pictures:

Hello Ken. Sorry to hear that you are selling your house on wheels to build a stick house!

If possible, before you sell your SMB, could you post a couple of pics of how your Baja Box and your bike rack is attached to your rear Aluminess bumper? Especially the underside of the Baja Box.

Your rig is one of the few that I have seen on line that has both the box and the bike rack, both of which I have sitting in my garage, waiting for me to figure out how to attach them to my rig!

Good luck in your Maine endeavours!

Ed, see if the pics HERE help.

This is a modified rack, which incorporates the Aluminess rack option (minus the Thule bike carrier) and a Hollywood Racks Pro Rider II rack. The part of the Pro Rider that goes into the hitch was removed by a welder friend, and then was slipped over the Aluminess part, and then attached by bolts. My set-up would not be suitable for off-road use, but neither was the original Thule bike carrier in my opinion (hence the bike trays on top of the van). Let me know if the pictures do not help and I will take some specific pictures of how the bike carrier mounts to the baja box and send them to you directly.

As for me selling...we are doing it for the extra cash to build a house. The good thing is, we don't NEED it, just want it. I took a long trip last week and was thinking how great it would have been to have a Sprinter set-up like the Brian Lopes 55. No PH to put up. Bikes can go inside the rear (I kept them inside the van for better MPG). It was a real hassle, and since at least 2 bikes accompany me every time I drive the SMB, a sprinter might be a better choice for non-mountain driving. Maybe in a few years.

Ken, I feel sorry for you. I hope it was family or an OUTSTANDING job that got you to Maine. We are from Vermont but moved to Lake Tahoe in 1997. Sportsmobiles are much more practical in the west with all the public lands available. New England is mostly private lands and even in Vermont it is getting harder and harder to just go out and explore. Good luck in your move and new house. oclv

Garage
former Vermonter here as well, transplanted to UT 16yrs ago for the snow and mtn biking and never left... We like visiting the family back in VT but for me it will be hard to leave the West now.

Good luck on the house Ken - You had a chance to head to northern VT and ride the Kingdom Trails yet? You NEED to put it on the must-do list, hands down some of the fines singletrack outside of the Rockies

Good luck selling the rig
