WTB Pre 1992 Ford 7.3 4x4
I'm on the lookout for an older body style Ford 4x4 van. Below are my ideal specs, thanks for viewing:
1991 or older
Ford E350 (or E250)
7.3 IDI Diesel
Standard length
4x4
Minimal rust
Condition of body more important than mechanicals.
I would also consider a GM 1 ton with the 6.5 diesel.
I am willing to travel to pick up the van, but it must be able to drive back to Wisconsin!

Keep an eye out on the oilburners.net site too - those guys usually post up any good finds with the Ford IDI diesel's in them.
Good luck - there are a few out there, but not a ton. Most of the old Pathfinder van's seemed to have 351's or 460's.
You may even have better luck finding a 92-94 (newer body style) with a 7.3 IDI if the body style isn't a deal breaker.
cheers!

There was one recently on CL. A 1991, diesel and Pathfinder conversion I believe. I didn't mention it earlier because I didn't think anyone wanted something that old .. I was mistaken. If I see it again I'll be sure to post a link.
There was also a Chevy 3500 4WD van with a 454 and a Dana 44 front. I was almost tempted ..

Thank you all very much for your responses.
The van linked from Schluchtenflitzer is perfect... I wonder if it drives over sea ice of the north pole?

Hi;
Please post the old stuff. Made by any manufacturer. For some of us there is great demand for project vehicles and the old ones make a great starting point.
Regards,
Gavin

I'm from wisconsin too, and just bought an 89 e350 diesel rust free from maryland, flew out there and drove it back... I paid 1800.00 and it only had 84, 000 miles. I'm gonna put my intervec camper top and all camper interior from my rusty camper van inside of it and convert it to fwd. I think your best bet is gonna be ebay and driving if you have to like I did.
