Alright, if we're gonna get into this, I've tried every way to make it and settled on pour over. Pour over funnels/pots are cheap enough to keep one everywhere, house, van, etc. It's the best tasting coffee I've had and also the way many coffeehouse make it if they don't have a fresh (big) batch made. Best part to me is the speed, just time to boil and pour water, and the cleanup. Just dump the filter, rinse and go. It's so much easier than cleaning a French press I can't even believe it.

I got this insulated one for Christmas. I traveled with it just today. Hot, gourmet coffee for hours and it stays upright on the floor of the car.

+1. It's easy, unpretentious, and makes a good cuppa.

Coffee is OK but kinda weak IMO. My stove top Espresso maker does a good job at prepping me in the morning.

I'm on board with the pour over. By the way, if you're ever near Eugene, Or and like coffee stop by The Wandering Goat. Their Mexican will change your life and the pictures on the wall may give you strange dreams.... A lb or two of the beans for the road could ruin you though. I was never a coffee snob until I had it.

Man, I hate fantastic coffee places like that. I mean, I love them but can never quite duplicate it at home so it pisses me off. Also, that amazing coffee is always expensive and I get tired of paying for it. Of course, I'll still take your advice as soon as I'm there.

I'm luckily not enough of a coffee snob (yet) to need the real thing. I use Starbucks Via single-serve instant packets. Super convenient.
