Re: Monster EarthRoamer Announced

Yep, it is a big ol' work of automotive engineering art... problem is, in my state and any state that borders, there are few unpaved roads on which that thing would fit. Overstory (tree limbs) would destroy that thing in a few miles. It looks too big for the trails that haywoodphotomaccom has been posting videos of out West. WTF would you do with it?

Lovin' my van more every day!

Re: Monster EarthRoamer Announced

I agree with the "too big to be useful" sentiment.

That being said, check out the tan truck in the main photo here.

If you scroll down in the photo gallery and click on that photo, you'll see it's a 4x4 M2 Freightliner chassis.

I'm not sure what trails you could go on with it, but it sure looks impressive.

I'm thinkin' I'd rather have the money that they cost... could have a different SMB for each day of the week

Monster EarthRoamer Announced

I think it would be awesome to have but where would I camp? Trees are low, it would be a real pain to turn around can't park anywhere and I like the multi SMB idea.

I have to wonder if building something like this will take them right back on that same path.

Re: Monster EarthRoamer Announced

Let me understand. Someone is going to take this traveling bill board that shouts "I have so much money I don't know what to do with it!" into the worlds 'wild areas' traveling and camping. Does it come with gun ports and a gun rack?

I prefer 'low profile' traveling myself.

Yes, with your choice of Howitzers, laser cannons, or photon torpedo launchers to fight off the zombies!

Seriously though, it does come with a built in central vacuum system.

Re: Monster EarthRoamer Announced

Anyone who is thinking of purchasing this owes it to themselves to rent the largest U-Haul (the earthroamer is still bigger) and take it out on the road and on some washboard for a week. Yes, the Uhaul is 4x2 with low clearance, but at least they will get a feel for the ride and size. Yes, it would probably be great for the steppes of Mongolia or the Australian outback. Western portion of N America? Not a chance.
