Re: Who's sold on EBAY?

What are the odds of the buyer either sending your $100 or the item back to you when he gets it Monday or Tuesday?

I've bought quite a few things on E-bay and have had no negative issues with people. Of course I'm willing to wait a while to get stuff. If it does come in late I'm one of the more understanding types. Probably has something to do with dealing with freight problems at work for the last 18 years.

Re: Who's sold on EBAY?

Gnar, I wondering the same thing. I feel I've done my part.

Eric, I have considered Fed Ex and UPS but I'm not local to either. I travel through areas where there are hubs during the week. Thing is I've never had a post office incident (and still may not have one). I probably need to do a little research.

I use Craig's list as well. I've only ever sold one or two things off of Craig's though. I sold a Shop Smith yesterday on there. Ive listed a lot of stuff but sold very little. I have bought plenty off of Criag's though. In fact the van came from Craig's list and it was local (about and hour away).

I'm selling stuff for my Father who has a lot of mis matched stuff and all of it is worth something. The day before I sent this item I sent a $500 item to another buyer without incident( by USPS). My dad buys flea market and garage sale items and resells them to support his toy train habit. Right now he has more than he can deal with because of his health. With that in mind, I'm not out of pocket anything and he is out very little. Shipping was $14, a couple dollar paypal fee and Ebay fee and the original money he paid for the item (which couldn't have been very much, probably $5 or $10)

I haven't heard anything from the buyer since Sat PM after we exchanged messages back and forth. I had to step away from the computer. I refunded yesterday and still not a note. So we will see.

I agree. Sounds like he is impatient more than anything.

Who's sold on EBAY?

Just be clear and concise with whatever supporting doc you have when responding on the eBay message board. The resolution center is pretty good at resolving that stuff. Plus the buyer should give the package a chance for it to arrive.

Who's sold on EBAY?

Well.....actually No! He sent me a very short email early Monday wanting to know why I refunded his money. He also said that he opened the dispute to "protect himself" and it was "nothing personal". I didn't respond to that email and haven't ever heard if he got the package. When I closed the PayPal dispute Sun AM, the comment I left was for him to enjoy the item, that I wasn't going to file an ins claim, and that I would appreciate not doing any future business with him.

What a jerk. Sorry you lost on that one, but perhaps he will send you some money after he gets his stuff.

At some point in the resolution process, the buyer and seller are cut off from communication. It depends on what level the buyer escalated things to.
