It's a 10 hour drive from where I am in Oregon, and I need to be back in SF Saturday afternoon to pick up my gf. I'm assuming they aren't open on Sunday for service?

Well I woke up at 530 to try and get there by 3pm today. But it seems that I won't make it today, and they are closed tomorrow. Oh well!
Now I'm in Medford enjoying a biscut breakfast sandwich.

You can head over to the coast from Grants Pass which is just a few miles back up I 5 North. The road there is windy but really pretty. It spits you out at Crescent City, CA and you can head south through the Redwoods from there down towards the Bay Area.

I love that drive , so beautiful, did a that few years back coming home from Socal. I still have a chainsaw carved redwood bear i bought from a carver Outside the park boundaries...

Update!

So I could not get this top thing off my mind. I stopped off at Walmart to buy some basic tools and some white lithium greese.

I unscrewed some of the fabric to see how the power top functions. I saw that it looked rather dry, so I lubed it all up. I croswd my fingers, and no pop at full open! Nothing looked bent or out of place.

The original owners said they only had it up a few times, maybe it got dusty and dry over the last 16 years.

I'm currently by mt Shasta.

Made it to camp at a nice campground in Napa. No issues with the top going up again.

Put about 400 miles on her today, noticed when I got to camp that the floor behind the passenger seat was really warm. I'm assuming it's from the exhaust. Also picked up a huge crack in my winshied on the 5 this afternoon, I found a local shop that can replace it at 9am tomorrow before I continue.

Finally home! 1400 miles, 3 nights. I could stay out for another few weeks if it were up to me.

A few things I noticed on the way home that I'll be keeping an eye on....
Seems to pull just slightly to the left when breaking, also breaks squeak a bit on the left side.

Noticeable "humm" (like a biplane) sound between 40-70 mph. Some akin to loud tires, but not sure.... All psi are good. Firestone up front and handkook in the back, E rated.
