ARB fridge fuses
Thought I'd be proactive and find some spare fuses for my ARB fridge before leaving on a trip later this month. Have never blown a fuse on it, but I don't like warm beer.
The ARB fridge has a fuse in the cabinet itself, a 4A F4l250V. Pretty easy to find an equivalent fuse locally. What I'm having a little problem with is the fuse that's inside the 12V DC power plug. That fuse is listed as a "T 8 Amp 32V".
I can find 8A fuses all day long, but without taking apart the plug, I was hoping to find out if it's a glass fuse, ceramic fuse, and whether it's a fast blow (what I would expect) or a slow blow fuse. There are some mini fuses out there too, so I was hoping to confirm that this fuse is a standard size.
I e-mailed ARB USA, and they got back to me fairly quickly with:
"Hello Herb,
The fuse for the fridge 12v cord is a T8A 32V or by our part number 10910034 and lists for $.57. You could give our customer service a call and order them.
Hope this helps."
I already knew the part number from the instruction manual but I asked if it was a glass fuse, and whether it was a fast blow or slow blow. I just imagine that I'd have to pay $10 to ship a $0.57 item.
Done venting, I'll take apart the DC power plug when I get home today.
Herb
