Re: New 2014 Quadvan heading to California for a RB34 Buildo
[quote="vwteleman"]The interior of your "inspiration" rig (surfgeek33's old rig) has a nice layout that puts the 3rd captain's chair on the driver's side, but it may not work in your RB.
This is a sweet layout, considering my bed length needs, this gaucho wont fit in my RB. Interestingly enough though, I like the speaker placements. Is that something SMB does (or has done)? Having a rocking sound system is important to me for the highway miles, so I am hoping to be able to get a decent speaker selection placed around the van.

Re: New 2014 Quadvan heading to California for a RB34 Buildo
If there was one thing I wanted more of in my SMB, it was a bigger fridge. It's just nice to be able to stock up the fridge with all the food items and then stock the cooler up with drinks only. None of the food items get soggy or water logged. We just sold our SMB today and when I start building out a layout for my passenger van for camping, I'm going to get one of the largest chest style fridges that will fit.

Does SMB offer any chest style fridges or are you thinking engel, etc? I wish the engel was a bit taller to align better with cabinet height instead of width and depth which occupies more valuable floor space. 3.6cf is about 100 quarts. Considering the efficiency of space you gain in a chest style, that means 60-80 should be more than enough. The only difference in engel is that these are taller or shorter, but still take up just over 31" x 19" of space.

I don't think I've ever seen an SMB build with a chest style fridge, but I imagine if you give them dimensions of the fridge you want to use, they could make a provision for it. Buckkiller has a Van Specialties build and he has a cool setup with a slide out for this chest fridge.

Re: New 2014 Quadvan heading to California for a RB34 Buildo
I found this National Luna ($1795!!!) that is a small footprint and pretty much matches the counter height of 28
http://store.adventuretrailers.com/p...-Aluminum.html
This might make it easy in that you could replace one of the rear cabinets or just have no cabinet there.
Dimensions: 25"L x 16.5"W x 28"H

Ok, if I skip a cabinet, I can get the space as needed OR drop in a National Luna (in purple, drivers side rear):

Is the driver's side storage cabinet at counter height, or full height? If full height, I'd place the fridge space next to the gaucho for a handy place to set things.

My van is technically a passenger van so it is full of windows. Everything is counter height.
