We
mostly camp in the boonies, not paved cg's, so just installed an awning mount that fits under the pop-top, is strong and adaptable to conditions. Also inexpensive.
Parts List:
3-5 1"x2"x 8' treated lumber
7 #14x11/2" self-tapping hex head screws
1/2 doz #4 screw eyes
1/2 doz snap ss S-biners (or spring hook of your choice
50' camo parachute cord
7' and/or 10' tarp (Canvas a Tractor supply, or plastic stuff from Walmart)
Tube silicon seal for between wood and van roof (get the good stuff for an extra buck or two)
3/16" drill bit
Note: choose your tarp and space screw eyes accordingly
Pics show a 6.5 footer rigged up (takes about 3 minutes), as cargo space on my next trip Very tight, but also have a 10 footer with two extra outer poles and stakes made up, for later beach camps.
The larger tarps extend to rear ladder bungie and installed front corner bolt-thread eye ( see pic) .
