That looks nice. Part of me now wishes my van didn't already have a raised roof. While it would be nice to have a bit more headroom and height for a platform bed as well as having a better surface for mounting solar panels on, part of me can't see cutting off and throwing away a perfectly good (and somewhat uncommon) Turtletop.

Looks like Fiberine cut the metal roof as far back as they could get it. Leaves you lots of options to trim it out.
I was planning to leave the last rear cross-brace / roof in place for storage and rigidity. Decided to let Fiberine hack it off morning of install. Plenty rigid back there with top on and easy to add a shelf/box for storage.
I am looking to install a high top as well, it will be the first step in my build out. I figure it will be easier to start the gutting the interior and doing the insulation when I can fully stand.
I am wondering if there is value to pre wire for solar and install a fan if I don't have a house battery system yet?

Always better IMO to pre-wire if you even think you may want to add something later. The time and cost is small when building out, but a lot more once everything is put together.
Buffalo (Chris) and NRobert10 (Rob) came over to check out the new top last night . They both liked it a lot. Full time standing room is pretty amazing... Both seem eager to convert from pop-top to fixed-top.
I'm deep into "Analysis Paralysis" researching insulation and electrical. Trying to keep it simple but future proofing has me locked up good...
Current insulation plan: Ensure plenty of paint on all metal surfaces followed by a radiant barrier like Attic-Foil then half inch Rmax R-Matte Plus-3 Polyiso. Will double sheet this on the ceiling and use baffle insulation everywhere else I can stuff it.
Wiring plan needs all my attention now... Need vs. Want segregation time..
