push out van windows
I just added a push out rear window to my 89 Ford E150 today. The person that had it before me removed one of the fixed rear barn door windows and put in a room air conditioner. I would rather have he view instead of the noise.
At he junk yard I had the choice of fixed or push out windows. Since I needed the gasket too I opted for he push out window because the gasket was much easier to take out. The window came out with six Phillips head screws. Four at the top hinge and two in that hold the operator to the door. There is a plate inside the door that has two threaded holes in it that the operator screws go into. You have to reach inside the door to hold plate as you unscrew he operator screws.
Unscrew the operator first, then open the window all the way open. Once you get it level with the top of the van it will come out of the upper hinge. Hold on tight so you do not drop it.
You will need to take he gasket as well because the gaskets on the push out windows are different than he fixed windows.
I paid $30 for the window and gasket. It was easy to install. You may want to put a dab of butyl rubber around the upper screws when you install it to keep the rain out.
