Rotating Front Seats
My front seats are fixed in my converted 2008 GMC Savana Van. I'd like to be able to rotate them, but it seems as though there is some legal/safety issues with doing so (I think it is due to the air bags). Does any one know of add on swivels or replacement seats that will allow me to turn them around?
Jim

Re: Rotating Front Seats
There is a sticker in my van somewhere that says not to drive with them in any way but forward- obviously don't want the airbag hitting you in the side, and seatbelt is not designed for backwards, etc.
Any van conversion source or there are a few posts on here about where to buy rotating seat bases.

Re: Rotating Front Seats
FWIW, my 2010 express had a nice passenger swivel installed, but due to the routing of cables on the floor near the base of the center console and under-driver-seat fuse box the driver seat was not able to accept the swivel base ,(

Re: Rotating Front Seats
I did my front passenger seat (2006 express)which is my lazy boy at the camp site. It did raise the seat about 2in. my wife is only 5ft tall so it kinda work in her favor. It was just a swivel insert i installed works great.
You can see the height difference on this one the driver seat is laid back some so its not that big of a diff.

Re: Rotating Front Seats
I haven't had luck finding a source or post for a add-on swivel or pedestal (I keep looking at posts). Any help would be appreciated.
I am only looking at the passenger seat. I am 6'1" so a whole new pedestal would be preferred over a swivel that would add height to the seat.

Re: Rotating Front Seats
DiscountVanTruck.com has some, 4th result down on Google: van seat swivel plate
http://www.discountvantruck.com/rvvanse ... tbases.htm
There used to be a conversion van store in Indiana that had tons of seats and bases in stock. It's different from an RV outfitter, more like an aftermarket truck place but for vans. If nothing like that is around, you're probably stuck buying off the Internet.
Never bought anything from the site above, but it looks like you could find something.

Yes I bought it from the link Jage gave you.

Im also 6'1 and it doesn't bother me. But I also do all the driving and only sit there when its turned around. The only thing about discount van is you have to stay on them they are really slow stop ship sometimes. When you go to the site its real easy to find the swivel for your Van.

Re: Rotating Front Seats
James, you might contact VanSpecialties and as Rob for the part number he used on our 2010 1500 Express AWD passenger seat...it did not raise the seat at all from what i can tell (if that is what you are after?).
