Hard to tell what the conversion is from the fotos as they are a bit dark and it looks like everything has just had a recent coat of black undercoating. It has coil spring fronts but it doesn't look anything like my Quigley underneath. Anyone know?

If it doesn't have anything too badly wrong with it it seems pretty reasonably priced compared to a lot of what we see.

Looks like pretty standard issue 1970's F150 front suspension/axle to me. Nothing wrong with that if you are okay with radius arms on a straight axle.

The rear end is hard to tell though, the silhouette looks like a sterling which could be either 8 lug pattern, but it could be the smaller (9.75" ring gear?)/5 lug (but with 5on135mm, not 5 on 5.5" like the front?) that came in Expeditions? Can't really tell from the pics.

Re: 1997 5.4L 4x4 $12k

I almost bought this van 3 years ago when it had the font axel installed but was not 4x4. Needed transfer case and some serious love, the seller was asking 6k at the time. (I used to live in PDX)When I looked at it the mileage was 105,000 and it had started life as a wheel chair van. As far as I know it's a home build with a Dana 44 font end with a 6" lift. Think it has a borg warner 1356 transfer case with Mechanical shift (slip yoke version) if memory serves correct, or that's what I was told to get to install. It's in amazing shape now, so kudos to the guy who bought it, he's cleaned it up really nice on the inside and the paint has for sure been buffed out really good. Can't believe he's only put 6K miles on it since I looked at it. The roof rack was just mounted directly in to the roof and sealed, for the Pacific Northwest this isn't a good idea. But Bend is a much dryer climate.
