Draining water tank 2003 EB50

Hello all. I just bought a beautiful 2003, 7.3l EB50 with 59,000 well cared for miles and am getting to know my SMB. My water tank is mounted under the couch and I am wondering if the only way to drain the tank is by opening the small stop cock in front of the tank, near the floor. It seems to drain very slowly. Is there a faster way? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance. Fernando

Re: Draining water tank 2003 EB50

Congratulations on the new SMB!

You can run the pump and open a faucet to put it down the drain. This will be much faster. Just stand by and turn off the pump as soon as air comes out. You may want to open the dump valve for your gray tank. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks David. I appreciate the advice. We love the new rig and are itching to use it.

Thanks David. We are in Salt Lake and would love to come up, but I am a firefighter and am on duty that weekend. I will be watching for the next one for sure. Thanks again

Re: Draining water tank 2003 EB50

On my Ford the drain tube was pressed up against a frame crossmember from the top- basically drilled through floor, inserted pex until it stopped, which pretty much blocked the flow. I marked it and swiss-cheesed the section below the floor to increase drain flow. Alternatively you could cut the end at 45 or something, but I felt like dirt/clogging and bugs would be less likely with lots of tiny holes.

Of course I was taking everything out anyway at the time, so it was an easy tweak.
