Seat Belt Buzzer
Has anyone disconnected the seat belt and key in ignition buzzer? If so, where is the #@$* thing! I guess I need to get a hose out to use as a stethoscope. The bonging sounds like it's coming from all over under the dash. Old ears have trouble here too.... I'm trying to do this on an '07 with the 6.0 ifin it makes a difference. I just hate it when electronics tell me what to do....

I don't have firsthand knowledge of it, but I've heard there's a sequence of on-off's with the ignition key that will turn off at least one of the buzzers. It's suppossedly somewhere i the owner's manual, but again, no firsthand knowledge.

Yeah Herb, I did turn off the seat belt buzzer via directions in the owner's manual. But the buzzer I'm most concerced with is the key in the ignition when the door is open one. Can't seem to find the dang thing anywhere. Sounds like the same buzzer, but just can't find out where it is. Probably in some master black box and can't just be disconnected like in the bad old days.

I'm still trying to find the "buzzer" that goes off when you leave the key in the ignition and open the door. This is really bugging me!!
Anyone else out there that has located the thing?? Hope, hope, hope....

Having once locked keys in a vehicle with power door locks, I would not want to remove the key reminder. Shoot, I would pay extra for it!

Yeah I hear you Mike, but I have a hide-a-key and leave the key and I NEVER would be so silly as to leave the key in the ignition and lock the doors

Seat belt buzzer
The seatbelt "minder" deactivation proceedure is on page 76 of the 2007 owner's guide. I found it easier to have a neighbor kid do it for me. same with programing DVD/VCR players and other such stuff.

Are you talking about the "chime"? Door, headlights, anything that makes the tone.
First thing I was looking for when I got my Sporto.. that darn ignition/door buzzer.
My buddy found it in two seconds, it was under the steering column. It's a grey box with a plug on the bottom. Just pull it out..
The next thing I disabled was the side door lights... just attracts em' bugs..

NRL - From your signiture it looks like you have a '96 SMB?? My last van was a '96 and I did what you suggested. No problem. But - there's always a but - my '07 is different and I can't find the little box with the chime. I guess my ears are getting old, but I can't pinpoint the sound. It sounds like it's coming from everywhere.
I'll just have to keep on looking (listening)
Thanx
