RB-50 lower bed is already a 4" foam, somewhat firm for good sleep posture. I often add a 1-2" foam pad over it. Up top, I permanently keep a 1" memory foam over the thinner PH base pad. I couldn't be any happier up there! (probably because I love my van, love camping, and probably had a few adult beverages....)

I have the exact same setup in the PH as Jeffrey and always sleep great...except for when I was too lazy to get the van relatively level when setting up camp. Before the memory foam, I did find it a tad uncomfortable. We also have a "bed in a bag" that we bring along that is impressively comfortable. It has two sides, one for winter and one for summer. Sets up in a second, no need to make a bed and much more comfortable than a sleeping bag.

The 'bed in a bag' used to be made by Travasak, but I'm not sure if this product is still being made.

Re: Sleeping Quality!
From what I gather it is no longer....but apparently there is another brand that makes a similar one. Don't know the name of the company though. Boy I'm sure not much help.....
We have the twin travasaks and love them.

Re: Sleeping Quality!
A bit spendy, but what associated with an RV isn't?

Re: Sleeping Quality!
Yep, the one we had was made by Travasak, I think we got it around 3 years ago. However, the link Herb provided above appears to be the same thing (although a lot more expensive than I remember). It does seem like Travasak no longer makes them .

Re: Sleeping Quality!
cari and i just home from our maiden voyage in the van with the froli sleep system. She asked me last nite as we got comfy in our sealy pillow top queen if i would consider building a sleep platform in our bedroom like i built in the van... now THAT is a statement! I might just have to make that an end-of-season project : )
Froli Sleep System is amazing!
and the finished product before taking out to install in van. The platform has 20" of clearance for our gear and action packers below.
