I'm not sure this is a good idea. I've seen a 6.0 lift a head after it hydrolocked. It wouldn't turn over, and the owner asked my to hook up my Cummins (and a booster pack) for an extra boost to see...

Cylinder contribution measures injector function through crankshaft acceleration. As long as cranking cylinder contribution is even, running cylinder contribution is a reliable way to measure...

Black smoke only means too much fuel or not enough air. Have you checked your air cleaner? Do you have a way to verify boost?

I have noticed the P0299 code for sticking vanes isn't all that...
