Well, after selling my '01 RB50 V10 4 yrs ago to help out on the downpayment for our current home I am officially back on board! Just returned from a 15hr drive home with my new to me EB51. Stoked doesn't even come close to describe my feeling...
Grabbed to the 02 EB51 7.3 Quigley that was on the preowned SMB site. Really wanted the V10 on the SMB 4x4 platform but in the end the overall package and condition of this barely broken in 7.3L diesel won out. Could not of asked for a smoother transaction and the PO's immaculate garage completely solidified my decision, you could eat off the floor it was that spotless (he was owner #2). For being 12 yrs old you would never have guessed - pretty much been garaged it's entire life and was incredibly well equipped from the 1st owner (who just happened to be the same person who has a Sprinter layout named after him w/ a sweet 'garage' floorplan). Yup, this was built and originally spec'd for Lopes. Being in the cycling industry myself, this was a no-brainer.
Anywho, a quick glam shot from the drive home- off to get some fresh meatier rubber this week... and time to save up a few more $$ for an Aluminess rear bumper box/tire setup in the next few weeks. Then it's ready for summer adventures!
Full leather interior, rockin' sound system/dvd, chipped/exhaust, custom FOX suspension all around and helper springs/swaybar in the back(amazed how much better/smoother it rode than my old '01 with just Bilsteins)...And, 16mpg on the way home! Gotta love the 7.3!
