Remodel!!
I have been stuck doing things for the wife for the last few weeks, in the middle of remodeling our guest bath:-(
My in-laws will be here the 24th and will be staying for the summer....so I'm trying to make our guest bath more senior friendly. I am soooo ready for a trip!

Lol you guys are mean:grin: ever since my father-in-laws heart attack last spring its been really hard on my wife, they live in New Mexico. I'm doing this for her, she needs to spend more time with her father.

Re: Remodel!!
My delightful wife, Ann,spent months with her mom before she passed. It was a great bonding experience between mother and daughter. They worked out a lot of baggage. Ann got to be with her mom at the moment of passing. It was a great experience for her. I never got that opportunity with my parents. It is great that you are supporting you family like this.

Re: Remodel!!
I'm lucky to have a great relationship with my inlaws. We spend lots of time together.

Re: Remodel!!
I'm doing our master bath and bedroom.
I have to get all the plumbing and wiring in before Monday - yesterday I worked on it until this morning.
Drywall going up while we are in Cabo starting Tuesday - can't wait to relax for eight days.
I feel your pain - wives, they can dream it, we get to do it.

Re: Remodel!!
Dang. I was going to give posting a rest for a while but this is a wide ranging thread.
BajaSportsMobile: Your master bath is in the same condition and about the same size as mine. So you are getting rid of the shower tub combo and going with:
1. Center drain shower? (With bench seat, etc.)
or
2. Roman tub?
If the latter, I would love to hear about how you are doing the tub pan. I considered it and abandoned that concept (although I still have the twist down/up roman tub drain) and am planning on going with just a super large shower with bench seat and two separate shower heads and controls. And BTW, are you going single handle (one pressure only or balanced) or dual handle? And if so what make model? (These things are either all plastic crap or very expensive!) Finally glass partition? Doors? How?
buckkiller and larrie, GoodOnYa Mates and on your wives. Spending time with your parents is precious as they get older. You won't regret it. It makes souls bigger.
We had alternating 24 hour live in care workers to help, but I had the great experience of having my Mom live with me for last 6 months of her life after she was medically too fragile for the assisted living place. She passed at my home and "woke up" for the priest! Whatever demerits I have accumulated in my life so far, I know I have a few credits with my Mom and I know she enjoyed that last 6 months as much as she possibly could.
