lottery vans, who has one?
State of Ore. motor pool vans, done by Salem/Kroger. I understand there were several, how many are left? Mine is a 96 E 250 cargo, 4wd by Salem/ Kroger. Still working out a few bugs, but it's drivin!

Re: lottery vans, who has one?
I've got the same: 96 E250 with a Salem Kroger conversion. Just got it last year, seems to be in great shape. Didn't know about a lottery, what's that?
Had SMB West put a poptop in it, pretty sweet.
cheers,
Al

Oregon Lottery had a whole bunch of 4x4 E250s made at one point, for servicing their machines. Possibly more than one order. They were spec'd especially for the lottery, and therefore had much heavier springs than typical.

Yes I can imagine having to haul all that money back to the Lottery HQ from the people who don't understand math would require the spring upgrade!

Re: lottery vans, who has one?
I heard from the owner of Salem Kroger those vans were also spec’d out to maintain over 90 MPH for several hours at a time!

That explains a lot: the beast has an insanely stiff ride. It's like riding in an old F350. I like it that way, but holy moly it's a kidney buster.
I haven't had mine up to 90 yet, but maybe I'll crank it up on the next road trip and see how it does.
Thanks for the info,
Al

Do you have any pictures of your van? This whole lottery van thing has me curious. Are there any visual differences that would tip someone off it's a lottery van? What does the rear spring pack look like? How many springs are in that monster? What was the stock interior like? Just a basic work van interior?

Re: lottery vans, who has one?
I remember seeing some of the Lottery vans, and they had lots of leafs front and rear. I didn't count, but more than normal.
The only other visual cue (besides the yellow "E" plates) is they all had a pair a rectangular, amber fog lights mounted to the top of the front bumper. Unlike the rest of the state fleet, the lottery vans came in anything but white.
